ABOUT BRAND

From Gokayama to the world

Located in a hidden mountain village of Gokayama, Toyama, Japan, the bow shop, “KUNITAKA OHSE” manufactures bows in French tradition. In the nature-rich environment, Ohse bows are crafted and fine-tuned by listening to the resonance of each Pernambuco baguette. Ohse bows are in use by the musicians around the world.

The Craftsmanship

It all begins with carefully selecting the right wood by going through the broad stocks of Pernambuco. It is his belief that the most important thing in making bows for string instruments is simply selecting right wood. With the vision of the bow yet to be played in the hand of a musician, his trained hands transform the Pernambuco baquette into a beautiful playing tool for the players.
